Als sie am nächsten Morgen zum ersten Mal vor ihre Höhle traten, konnten sie zunächst nur blinzeln, so sehr blendete sie die Sonne. Aber schon bald gewöhnten sie sich an das helle Licht. Was es da alles zu sehen gab! Bäume und Sträucher, Moos und Steine, Aeste und Wurzeln, Blumen und Blätter, dazwischen krochen Käfer und Würmer und in der Luft summten Mücken und Bienen. Und wie herrlich das duftete!

The next morning, as they went outside the cave for the first time, the bright sun made them blink their eyes, but they soon got used to it. What a lot of things to see! Trees and bushes, moss and stones, branches and roots, flowers and leaves. Beetles and worms were creeping around while mosquitos and bees were humming in the air. And oh, the wonderful smell!
